Just wondered if anyone knows why my energy usage has gone up by 50% this month compared to june last year ?
april 2014 115kwh april 2015 145 kwh
may 2014 105 kwh may 2015 160kwh
june 2014 105 kwh june 2015 155 kwh.
I thought I was getting better at using the free stuff ! Production is up this year on all 3 months aswell, can't think of any reason for the increase.

What's the make/model of your import meter?
One possibility is that your import meter may be faulty and adding your export, rather than ignoring it?4kWp, SSE, SolarEdge P300 optimisers & SE3500 Inverter, in occasionally sunny Corby, Northants.

We were getting massively increased figures for electricity consumption when our chest freezer failed to work efficiently. I used a plug-in power meter and recorded 2.96kWh per day for several weeks. On changing the freezer, this has reduced to 0.43kWh per day. Perhaps a check of your freezer and fridge is called for.

I have an npower smartpower monitor to monitor usage, haven't noticed anything unusual, we recently have been given a chest freezer can this really account for 50kw a month ?
my baseload is currently 375w which includes tv, laptop, fridge-freezer, chest freezer and burglar alarm.
Just switched to chest freezer off and the monitor went down by about 80 watts.3.64KW system, aurora power one inverter, South west facing with no shading in Lancashire.0 -

If it's pulling an average 80W, then that's 80*24hr*30days = 57.6kWh pm.
So, a possible answer, as it's a new addition.
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

that doesn't include the free stuff during the day though so we be about half of that.3.64KW system, aurora power one inverter, South west facing with no shading in Lancashire.0

80 watts would be about right for the compressor.
The crucial issue is how long does the compressor run. It is thermostatically controlled so should switch off when the set temperature is reached.0
