Redundancy affecting tax code

in Cutting tax
Hi, my wife was made redundant in April. The money she recieved(some of which was taxed) has now affected her tax code for the remaining financial year. I.e we have lost an extra £1500 in tax this month. Is this right?

What did the notice of coding from the HMRC state? When in April was your wife paid this redundancy money?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

New code is K670 got paid on the 27th.dont really understand it all...
I think the redundancy has taken her over projected earnings of 100k ,so paying highest rate of tax until next April?0 -
Need the numbers for redundancy(PAYE or outside PAYE) payments tax etc.
what was on the P45/P46 given to employer

We'll your wife is a higher rate tax payer so it will all come out in the wash when she does her tax return! If you can't wait that long give your Tax Office a call and they will sort I your now!
