Is that's it? Easy mortgage

I heard so many stories how hard is to get a mortgage, how stressful process it is. My story is different. Granted, we're buying a house, we've been renting for a while first, so we didn't have to look for one. But other then that, mortgage process itself:
1.05.15 - DH calls HSBC to make appointment
8.05.15- appointment took place, we've been told we can do it
28.05.15 - another appointment, with all paperwork , another appointment scheduled on 11.05.15
10.06.15 - call form bank to my DH to send copy of his contract, to clarify how many hours he works
11.06.15 - call to me to send my tax review ( I'm self-employed). It was three hours before appointment, so it had to be cancelled. Annoying, but...
12.06.15 - I sent required document and five hours later had another call form bank, saying our mortgage has been approved! So, another appointment
18.06.15 - we've been told we have to pay mortgage, otherwise we'll loose house
19.06.15- valuation date set
22.06.15- valuation done
25.06.15- valuation letter received, ok
26.06.15- written offer received , signed and sent back
01.07.15 - today, letter saying it's acceptable for bank to proceed with mortgage, already account number for it.
Two months. I didn't see this stressful at all, a bit annoying, when they called me three hours before appointment, but other then that , fine. HSBC has opinion on the pickiest, fussiest lender. Well, that's mean we're good people, lol:p
We're waiting for legal side of purchase. So far, so good.

Its lucky you were buying a house you were staying in. Nearly 2 months from putting in an offer to valuation would have scuppered a lot of purchases in a competitive market place.
Its when you think you might lose the house you have spent months looking for because the lender is taking so long to get things moving, is when it gets stressful.0 -
2 months easy? lol

The majority of lenders would have offer in the time between your initial call and your second appointment - some within the week to get the first appointment.I am a Mortgage Broker

That was then. This is now;)
Remember in those days you could get 125% LTV mortgages:eek:In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -
Halifax was days for me, and it started with a broker on a saturdayDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
