Still being hassled

I am still getting phone calls from a company called roxburgh on behalf of powergen. I have told them I am bankrupt but they keep ringing me. Every time I tell them I have gone bankrupt they ask for details of my bankruptcy. My answer is th matter is in the hands of the official receiver and it is not my problem anymore. They then get very stroppy.

Any suggestions?

Grr I hate DCAs...total scum most of them (sorry to anyone who works for one and is nice about it, I realise it is just a job that needs to be done, but the number of them that break the law really need putting down with a big stick.)

OK, rant over, sorry :D Firstly, if you can quote them your BR number when they call, that should help. Secondly, get in contact with your OR asap and let them know all details. Thirdly, write a letter to them and send it via recorded delivery saying 'Stop calling me, I am a BR, my offical receiver is dealing with my case and his/her details are: xxxxx'. If they still call after this letter has been delivered, call your local Trading Standards office, and depending on where you live it should get sorted. I had a really really nasty lot calling me (and I hadn't gone BR yet) and they ignored everything and were really horrid, got TS involved and haven't heard via phone from them since. They're taking me to court instead of talking to me via letter now, but still, it's progress :)

    Good luck :)

Either send them a copy of your bankruptcy order or give them the number of your official receiver.

Did you declare your powergen debt when you were made bankrupt?

If they do continue to contact you once you have proved the debt is invalid, then report them to the police for harrassment.

Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

"Can I speak to Mr. Vardmac?"
    "Speaking"
"It's Roxburg collection agency working on behalf of powergen about your outstanding debt"
"I cannot talk to you about this as it was incurreed before I was made bankrupt. My case number is XX of 2007 at Whoknowswhere County Court. You have to talk to the Official Receiver. His telephone number is 01234 567890 and his address is...... Please do not continue to call me about this as I am legally not able to discuss it with you as it has nothing to do with me. All calls must be directed to the OR. Goodbye"

Thanks to everyone that replied. :T

It makes me mad that after years of enduring these smug self satisfied knobs and the nasty calls that I have to tell them anything.

I am a bankrupt, please go away and don't call me again. :D
