FAO CCCS Matthew or Emily

I have cut this post out of a longer topic, could you see if you can clarify what she needs to do please.

Well I phone CCCS last night and went through everything with them. Feel v confused now. Overall I'm around £300 short per month to pay the amount my creditors want, and from what I read on here I thought a DMP would be the best way to get straight again as I'd at least be paying everyone something rather than never be able to afford to pay everyone what they want. After I'd chatted with the lady from CCCS she recommended I log back into the website and that their advice would be there for me to print off. The advice was that they are unable to help me because I do not have enough money coming in each month to meet minimum repayments as set by the creditors. I know I can't afford the amounts THEY want which is why I thought a DMP would be the way to do it? Feeling lost confused and vv scared now.

Basically a DMP ia about situations where
    a. you can't pay the 'contracted' amount on your debts
    b. but you have enough that they can eventually pay them back especially if interest and charges are frozen.

however, and not knowing your speciafic situation, if you have insufficient spare that you can't ever pay the debts back all you can realistical do is write to the creditors and offer them a £1 a month payment and say that if your circumstances improve them you will increase your payments.

How much are your dents and how much can you afford to pay each month?

I think it might be beneficial for you to call back and speak to us again to ensure we can clarify the options for you.

I'm not really in a position to comment on the situation at the moment as I don't have the figures in front of me. If the income you recieve isn't enough to support your priorities (e.g. rent/mortgage, utilities, food, travel etc) then a DMP wouldn't be an option, as there would be no money to offer the creditors as it would be needed for yourself.

Have you made sure that all the figures are correct? If any of the income/expenditure isn't correct then that will have an affect on the advice Debt Remedy will offer

As I said earlier, it's probably best to ring back up using your ref. number and we can go through things again with you to ensure that you are a little clearer on the situation

    Hope this helps
