Scotland, and Nthn Ireland don't have the abortion of this new NHS contract foisted upon them yet do you?
With the old fee-per-item system, you still have a bit of play in what you can do on the NHS.
I would still guess that a regular BPE scoring is not commonplace on the NHS though.
(I also conceed that it's not as common as it should be in Private Practice!)How to find a dentist.

2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
before I read your reply toothsmith, I asked Mr ooob what he thinks and he said the same as you. he gave me his free sonicare toothbrush and with that my teeth were so good the dentist asked me if he had been treating me at home(maybe when he quailifys) but the sonicare I really get on with.Sorry to highjack!Oh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY0

I don't know, can't speak for others but I can say that the other 4 (NHS) dentists I work with also do it. My friends from uni (we graduated 3 years ago) within the NHS still do it. I personally think it's extremely importantand no matter how busy I am it always gets done as part of any examination, even in regular 6 monthly pt's. I think it's part of what my £7.75 Nhs exam fee is for.
