Rent Due Soon

Hi I'm a student and I'm about to start my second year in uni. My first rent payment for my house next year is due soon (2 days) and I don't have money to pay for it.
My mum is a single mum on benefits and she's currently recovering from manic episodes in a mental health hospital. So I've had to take over financially at home for a while.
Due to terrible financial decisions a few years ago, I have about £600 debt, so I couldn't get an overdraft or student account from my bank. This was the root of all my financial problems in my first year at uni
I've already had to take out a £350 short term loan for food, bills and transport for my family which is due the day I receive my maintenance loan in September.
I've been applying for jobs almost every day since my last exam in May but I haven't got a single interview.
Another loan looks like my only option but I've gotten declined by 3 lenders already today.
My situation seems adverse, if I don't pay my rent and get evicted, I won't be able to go back to uni and my life will just fall apart
What can I do?

do you/family have any items of decent value?
you've left it a bit late for gumtree/ebay some of your items.... but there still is time
cash converters?
Speak to the landlord/mortage on both properties to see if you can get some breathing space?GC Jan £431.490/£480.00  £48.51 under budget!0 -
1) Speak to your landlord to see if he will defer the payment, though I think this is unlikely
2) Can you stay with anyone else in the interim? eg on a sofa somewhere.
3) Do you have anything you can sell?0 -
Speak to the Student Support at Uni. Explain everything and see if they can help. They do have emergency money and grants they can help with.0

Do you have a careers advisor at uni who could look over cv etc.
Get yourself down to the job agencies.0 -
Speak to uni student support team and to your mum's social worker.:hello:0

You are paying rent over the summer holidays, is that right? I know some landlords insist on this but have you looked for alternative housing that you can only pay rent during term time?
Is the short term loan you mention some sort of Payday loan?
Step up the job hunting, go in person to all your local shops/supermarkets/etc and ask if they are hiring. During my student years there were always seasonal jobs if you looked around.
I suspect the chances of you getting another loan is slim."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
As mentioned above, see the University's student support but also go and visit your Students' Union Advice Centre.0
