  • The chances of me trimming my CD and DVD collections lies somewhere between zero and none! :rotfl: I'm definitely a music lover in particular , and am showing great restraint at the moment to stop the pile from growing, so many on my wishlist I'd like to get...

  • Friday night and I haven't set my weekend goals yet! I can't be slipping already...

    • Sub-£25 food shop
    • Finalise budget
    • Sort out balance transfer to new card
    • 20 mile bike ride

Not sure what's happening with the balance transfer, which I arranged when I applied for the card, and it appeared online as 'pending', which seemed fine - but then it disappeared so I assumed it hadn't gone through. I then applied for another earlier this evening, and I've just logged to find a double transfer now pending and just £43 credit left. Interesting, on the blower tomorrow to sort that out.

  • I had the exact same thing happen when I just did a balance transfer. It showed as pending then it disappeared and when I did another balance transfer to the card that showed but the original didn't. I called them up and they told me different banks are quicker and slower so that was why one went through faster than the other... they did both show up eventually though!

Hope you're having a great weekend!
  • Thanks Belle, bit of a mixed weekend so far - got my credit transfer sorted out so the second one will be cancelled, but I missed my food shop target by 23p! :p Decided to take care of things at home yesterday and then planned to hit the road on my bike this morning, but hadn't checked the forecast and woke up to rain. :( Might see if it brightens up later, otherwise I'll put my feet up for the day, but will watch the tennis either way. And England won the first Ashes test! :j

  • Fairly quiet spending wise of late, slightly over my £25 food shop target this morning (£27.45), and filled up the car too.

The credit transfer has cleared at both ends now, so I've got £5,201.49 at 0% for 36 months which is great. Well, it's not great, but you know what I mean! :p

There will be a bit of interest still on my next main credit card bill. The target now is to clear about £200 on one other credit card after this months pay day, then make sure I keep that and my spending card paid off every month, and build up some funds in my current account. I'll let that run for a bit then might look to start paying off more of the loan, but shan't worry too much about the 0% card yet other than the minimum monthly payments.

Hoping for some good news on the rental front - my current agreement expires at the end of this month and my landlord is in the process of changing agencies. I've spoken with the new agents a couple of times, and as yet no mention of any fees or rent increases. Fingers crossed! The deposit should be transferred automatically too, so shouldn't need to worry about that.

Had a lovely 20 mile bike ride this morning, so I think I've earned the right to put my feet up for the rest of the day! :D

  • More or less good news on the rental front - only a £5 increase, no fees requested either.

I have had my first moment of weakness on this journey though - spent £25 on CD's. In my defence though, they are ones that I'd been after for a while, and all much reduced in price, so I'm actually going to put them down as a bargain! :rotfl:

So another month has gone, and it's been a good one - overall I'm up about £275. Happy with that!

These are my month end balances:

    Loan ~ £3,839.80
    CC#1 ~ £209.75
    CC#2 ~ £216.18
    CC#3 ~ £5,201.49
    Total ~ £9,467.22

Today I've paid £140 off CC#1 - this is my spending card so will always have a small amount on it at the month end. The statement date falls in the middle of the month, and I want to make sure I always pay the full statement balance to avoid any interest, which I have done here. I've also cleared CC#2 which doesn't get used much, and taken CC#3 down to £5,000 - this is 0% for 36 months, so for a while now I'll just pay the £120 minimum. £170 comes off the loan each month.

Taken care of a few errands this morning, and now I've got the rest of the weekend to myself! :j I was going to listen to the cricket all day, but England have already won! :rotfl:
