Just sitting and waiting for a decision from halifax! Does anyone know their current timescales if application is with underwriter?

Don't want to bother my MB too much as I know he will be busy!

Thanks :)

    Hi l,

Although I have havent had a complete offer as of yet (valuation carried out today) I have found Halifax fairly quick so far. They underwrite mortgage before valuation. We submitted our full application via broker to Halifax on the 11th June and heard back on the 15th June to say was All ok and will now move to the valuatiob stage. I have been told we should here by Thirsday with an offer (or not).

    Good luck!

Thanks, mine has been a bit longer than that but they had a couple of questions about something on my credit file which was answered on Friday. Hopefully no news is good news! Pleaders to hear they are not taking too long though

It was very quick for us. Once they'd gone to do the valuation it was just a couple of days before we received the offer.

Still waiting for a response starting to really worry now. Was told my application was with the business assessor on Wednesday and another credit search was carried out then.

I have also checked my bank and the valuation fee has been taken although my MB said this would not be taken until the application was approved. Does anyone know of halifax taking the valuation fee beforehand?

Feel as though I have aged about 10 years in last 2weeks, this process is so stressful

Halifax always takes the valuation fee at the point of the submission of the full application.

This is refunded if the valuation isn't carried out and the application is declined.

The valuation won't be booked until after the business assessor opinion.

    Thank you kingstreet.

Do you know roughly how long it takes for a reply from the business assessor? I appreciate that may be asking how long is a piece of string!

Sorry, it takes as long is it takes and that will depend on work levels. Could be two working days, could be five.

We are only one step ahead of you. We heard from assessor 2 days after submitting the full application via telephone. Valuation is booked for Wednesday. Assessor rang us to say she would write to our employers asking them to confirm our stated earnings and that she would let us know when she had done that so we could chase them to reply quickly. Just waiting and trying not to thing about i!😁

Thank you both. I'm hoping to hear something early part of next week. Just don't want solicitor to start searches until I get a decision. Really hard not to worry about it
