Product switch after mortgage offer?

I have a mortgage offer from Halifax that was arranged through a broker. The conveyancing has just begun and are looking for exchange and completion to be towards the beginning of August.
I have noticed our rate has reduced with Halifax, is our broker able to switch us this product or have we gone too far in the process?
Just thought I'd ask as can't contact him until tomorrow.
