Motor legal insurance

I have just taken out a car insurance policy and declined the legal cover as I have more than one vehicle.
I was intending to buy a stand alone policy available from around £7 to cover me in both vehicles but now I find a company offering it for free

any recommendations gratefully received

There is a thread where a rep claims their free service is as good as the ones you pay for with your insurance. But after some scrutiny it turns out to be almost useless.
I think it turned out they wont help you if there was nothing in it for them. So they offered little more than any of the accident claims companies that rinf you out of the blue and tell you there is money waiting for you.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

You'll see all their one sided ways of getting out - especially note they are not suitable at all if you hold third party cover.
(They say they will be allowed to give up on you if they find liability being disputed/a "technicality" over the claim etc and pass the claim to your insurer, and just provide a service to recover your excess)0 -
Quentin, what world do you live in?
The same thing happens when any credit hire provider gets involved in a case when the customer/ policyholder has been referred to them by either their motor insurers or legal expense providers.
i.e good intentions to hire etc at the outset, but if the claim gets messy (say possibility of split liability) with evidence coming to light that means repairs can't be authorised by the negligent party's insurer or a credit repair can go ahead, rather than just leave someone in a credit hire car indefinitely, to mitigate the losses, the claim for repairs or total loss will get re-directed to own insurers, which is good industry practice.0 -

As you have more than just a passing interest in this firm, maybe you ought to declare this when attempting to defend them.
Your ts +,cs are one sided and allow you to give up on a client for any unspecified "technicality" or any liability dispute preventing you getting paid "promptly" (though you don't define how long "prompt" means)
(And your ts +cs allow you to overrule your solicitor even if they are happy to proceed against the third party)
Anyone using conventional insurance add on legal cover get all their uninsured losses recovered if their insurer is fully recompensed by a third party, not just their excess as you offer, yet you advertise your service as being the "smart alternative" to normal legal expenses insurance!!
The OP is well advised to read your ts + cs and be sure he understands how one sided they are before deciding to rely on your "service".0
