Having a long term medical condition affect mortgage application?

My work colleague is about to apply for a mortgage. He has a long term medical condition that he was born with, he is working full time for many years, etc. He Doesn't take any medication for it but wear compression stockings(it'd count as using an aide?)
I know that the lenders ask for your medical history. Could they deny the mortgage on medical ground or lower the lending amount? He is applying with his partner who own a property. He is first time buyer though.

Lenders definitely don't all ask for medical history.

I've used three lenders recently and none of them mentioned medical history (HSBC, Nationwide and local building society)

It may limit their insurance options, but will not affect any mortgage application.

Thanks. He'll be glad to know that. His MA took the details of his medical condition which panics him.

This is for my own curiosity....
What about people who get disability living allowance and work part time. Both used on affordability. Would the lender ask questions then?
