<FORM action=# method=post>1. By entering this competition, the entrant will be deemed to have read and understood these rules and to be bound by them.
2. The only valid methods of entry will be: (a) by mobile phone by SMS messaging “Shark” and your answer (A, B or C) to 84200; (b) by completing an entry form and posting it into the competition post box at the Bristol Balloon Fiesta or at Blue Reef Aquariums; and (c) by providing your details and answering the question online via the website at www.discoverychannel.co.uk/sharkweek (the “Website”). All text entries are charged at £1.00 per text plus your standard operator rate. Please contact your mobile operator for further details on individual rates. Entries will only be valid where the confirmation screen is displayed (if entering by the Website), and when a confirmation SMS is received.
3. The competition is only open to entrants residing in the United Kingdom and who are over the age of 18 years. Only one entry per person is allowed.
4. Entrants expressly declare and represent that (i) they submit to English law in participating in this competition and (ii) they are individuals and not a company or any professional and/or commercial entity.
5. This competition is NOT open to employees of the Promoter, Discovery Communications LLC., Discovery.com and their respective parents, affiliates and subsidiaries.
6. The competition will run on the Website from 1 August 2007 until midnight (GMT) 24 August 2007 (inclusive). SMS competition will run from 1 August 2007 until midnight (GMT) 24 August 2007 (inclusive). The entry form competition at Bristol Balloon Fiesta will run from 9 August 2007 to 12 August 2007 (inclusive); and entry form competition at Blue Reef Aquarium will run from 18 August 2007 to 24 August 2007 (inclusive). The winners will be notified in writing or by telephone. The winners’ names only may be displayed on the Website 2 weeks after the closing date.
7. Illegible, incomplete or late entries will be disqualified.
8. The winners will be randomly selected from all valid entrants who have answered the question correctly and have submitted their details online, on paper or entered via SMS. The judge’s decision as to winning entries is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
9. The first prize will be a luxury weekend trip to Newquay, Cornwall in June or July 2008, for four (4) people to swim with basking sharks. The prize includes standard-class transport, three (3) nights’ self-catering cottage accommodation at the luxury Headlands resort (or accommodation of a similar standard if unavailable at the time requested), a day at sea swimming with the sharks on board the ‘Atlantic Diver’, and a ‘Shark Keeper for the Day’ experience at the Blue Reef Aquarium in Newquay.
10. The trip aboard ‘Atlantic Diver’ is weather dependent and it can not be guaranteed that sharks will be seen.
11. The first prize winner plus three (3) friends will swim with sharks at their own risk, the Promoter takes no responsibility; Atlantic Diver, has its own public liability insurance and third party insurance.
12. Entrants acknowledge that in respect of the first prize the transport, accommodation, shark swimming and the Blue Reef Aquarium visit will all be subject to the relevant third party service provider’s standard terms and conditions.
13. There are fifteen (15) runner-up prizes of annual family memberships to Blue Reef Aquariums.
14. The prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and non-refundable and there is no cash alternative available.
15. The name of the winners may be used in post-event publicity.
16. The Promoter is entitled to terminate or modify the competition or to modify these rules prior to the closing date by prior notice.
