Consent to let

Just wondering if I would be able to get consent to let in order to move back to my parents for a year or two and save the money to extend the lease on my property?

Have you tried asking the lender? Depends on who they are as to what their criteria will be.Thinking critically since 1996....0

I just wondered if anyone knows if the reason is acceptable before calling up.
Obviously it would add value to the property but I don't know the criteria they look at?0 -
It will depend on the lender, and on the particular contract that you have with them. You might prefer to stress the benefits of spending more time with aged parents, and perhaps benefits to your career from working somewhere else, rather than talking about the chance to save money.0

Thanks for your help.
What if I was to want to move location in order to walk to work rather than drive? Work being 5 miles away so not a great distance. Would they check my work address?0 -
I haven't heard of a lender asking for the rationale for letting, as long as there is no legal restriction stopping you from letting the property then you should be fine.0
