Making a new start

Options
I decided to write a debt free diary with the hope that it will keep me focused on the long road ahead of me.
I am approx. £20,000 in debt. I manage to pay the minimum each month but need to pay more. I am unemployed due to my health condition. Some days I am ok but other times I can not manage to walk anywhere. I receive DLA but that doesn't help with much. OH works as when required.
DAY 1
Today I have been sat reading through other diaries to try and pick up some focus. I need to cut down the spends on groceries and not keep going and collecting bits and pieces on other days.
I have decided not to go out today, that way I don't spend money.

Glad to see you have started a diary. It's great or focussing the mind on what you need to do.

    Good luck.

  • I ended up going out for lunch yesterday with OH and parents. I didn't spend a penny, parents paid for it all as they usually do. We then wandered around a garden centre but again never spent anything. They treated us to coffees. All in all a nice day and no thoughts were had about the money situation.
It will be a spending day today as I need to go to the supermarket for a few bits we have run out of. I will be going with a list and now straying from it.

Yesterday ended up being a NSD. I went to parents for the afternoon so only used a bit of petrol to get there.

I have now found out the balances of all my cards and it is worse that I thought

Today is also a NSD. Can't get my head round what I have managed to get into such a mess.

Op when you get a chance, fill in a soa and pop it up on here that way you will have a clear view of your situ and will be able to see where you could cut back for example Mobile phones. food shopping, sky tv package's etc.... without really missing them much good luck with your journey hope you make some great dents in that debt
