Halifax..........GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

SO I have been in commnication with Halifax about settling the account, so on the 11th June they put it in writing confirming the offer was good for 30 days.

Today I speak to them to find that on the 13th they sold the debt to a DCA..............

Give me strength

show it them if that's what you want to settle at
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Offer then 20% less. they will still make mega bucks on that as they would have paid just a small %

Which DCA is it, as IME some of them say they are dealing with the account now but when you want to discuss settlement they then say they'll need client authorisation!

well we finally got an answer.....Idem will honour a settlement figure for 65% of the balance............

I think considering Halifax sold the debt Idem are being a cheeky considering I'm sure they bought the debt for alot less....

    2 trains of thoughts now

Given this account was defaulted I and I have have 2 that aren't....it seems to make more sense to settle the non defaulted ones first and deal with the defaulted ones later on (hoping that with some time past Idem would take a better rate)

    Unless anyone has anyone suggestions...?
