Question about Lionbridge/temp contracts

Hi I just read the snippet below from an MSE article on Lionbridge:
"On the downside, people in the UK can only work for Lionbridge for a maximum of 11 months, because of UK employment law on temporary contracts."
Can anybody tell me is there a way around this? Can you re-apply after 11 months? Are there any other income-boosters advertised on MSE that have this caveat?
I have had to take time off work to look after my mum, who is sick. I was hoping to work part time at my current job and part time from home, but now this has put me off and I don't know what to do. My current job doesn't pay enough for me to get careworkers in for my mum, so my only option is to work part time from home, where I can look after her myself and earn money at the same time. I'm looking at audiotyping, personal tutoring and Textbroker, but had also been hoping to apply to Lionbridge. I'll probably still apply, as a year's worth of money is always going to help, but really I'm looking for long term things.
Thanks.

You can re-apply with Lionbridge after a year of your contract ending I think.
Leapforce do 6 month contracts which usually (if you're alright at the job) are renewed. Lots of people been with them for years.0 -

Out of interest which article was this? I worked for Lionbridge for the year and when it came to the time to let me go I did a lot of looking around and couldn't find anything to back this up. No one at Lionbridge knew what the specific reason was. We are not employed directly by Lionbridge but were self employed contractors so I see no reason why this would be the case. I have currently been doing the same job with Appen now for 3 years and they don't seem to have such a rule.0

Audio transcription is pretty badly paid - I make more with another WSE in two days than I do in a month with audio, and I have 10 years NHS experience.0
