  • I didn't realise we were allowed to approach the mortgage advisors on here. I'm sure it will be helpful to those that post on here to know that as unless you know anyone who can recommend a local one I find it all a bit daunting doing a search on the internet for a reputable advisor and I'm sure others would be the same if not confident in this sort of thing.

    Wow... Success brings debate.

Well what can I say. In our situation paying a little more for 2 years was cheaper than saving for a better rate as not only do we have some disposable income we also are on the property ladder.

Our broker gave us facts and I researched also go see what chances of getting a mortgage were. Getting on the ladder whilst not paying eye watering interest was paramount. I didn't want to mess about with applications and neither did my wife. As professionalswe have enough with our work so a broker made sense. They match a lender with our requirements and in this instance it is Aldermore. All gone though without delay or any drama.

Well worth it and I would recommend a broker to anyone who is unsure about the mortgage market. Other financial people 'in the know' seemed to think it's a reasonable deal given our circumstances.

Very happy. One thing I would disagree with is relying on brokers to take a chance on the best rate and to try and influence a decision. Surely it's not worth the risk for the lender, broker or the buyer.

    Thanks
