Alliance & Leicester

I have today been told by Halifax that I they will send me a chq for £25.00.
I had no acc No but this was not a problem
Norwich & Peterborough have sent a chq for £70.00, also no acc No but staff were great.
Yorkshire B S have told me that I am not entitled to a refund as I paid £73.50 in 1999 and this was the correct amount.
My biggest challenge is my last mortgage lender Alliance & Leicester who charged me £295.00 when I left them. They say that 'my mortgage was advanced after August 2004' when they increased their fee from £195.00. (I don't understand this). But they are refusing to refund me anything.
Any suggestions please?
