DMP + Token Payments

Hi All,

I am in the process of hopefully setting up a DMP with CCCS. I've filled in their online form and am awaiting their pack to come through to me.

Anyway, I have only one question, and that is token payments.

It states to cancel all Direct Debits, and if the plan isn't set up before the next payments on your loans/cc's to send token payments that we can afford..

How do I go about sending these payments? Cheque? Will it be ok as they will then know my new bank account details (Have had to open a new account as one of my creditors was my old bank).. I dont want to have my new account shut down either if they receive a tip off from my current creditors that I am in financial trouble and entering a DMP (Do banks have this sort of relationship/communication or am I worrying over nothing?)

I cant send the token payments via Standing Order as I dont have the Account Number/Sort Code.. My Direct Debits just had a ref number, no account/sort code details.

What method do people normally use to send these token payments?

Thanks for any advice :) Feel much better having owned up to my problem and start trying to get it sorted out! :):)

I cant remeber what we did when we set up the agreement with the CCCS. I know we had a letter to send to our creditors explaining the situation.

What you can do is phone them, explain and then make the token payment over the phone. Most people are ok as the CCCS work with most of the large companies and banks.

I know the first payment to the CCCS we had to do via the post office and then we set up a direct debit.

    Good luck with everything.
