Checkmyfile

Well I signed up for checkmyfile and got all my records up, I have found three defautled accounts however vodafone appears on two.

1 - Vodafone - £126, on callcredit it says i have defaulted every month since August 2004, I thought you could only default once.

Who do I contact about this one ?

2 - Unknown - £639.00, is there anyway to find out who this one is with, defaulted November 2004.

If the 2nd one is a credit card would I be able to challenge the bank charges on it. Then there are some accounts which just tell me credit limit and that these are Settled & Satisified nothing to worry about there.

If I clear the two above will this improve my credit rating overall or will defaults stay there for another 3 years.

The main reason I did this was I recieved a letter from a debt collection agency for a debt of £2709, first I have ever heard of it and it does not appear on any of my file's, is it statute barred possibly.

Any help appreciated

Addition - It also says I am linked to an address I never lived at, any ideas, linked by Barclaycard who I do have an account with.

Is it worth taking a consolidation loan out to cover these two and my two credit cards I got.

    Hi

Re unknown and the unexpected address, ring the credit agency concerned and ask them. They have to keep your record straight, as false records breach the DPA.

    Re the consolidation loan.

    NO.

Plainly over a period of time you have struggled to get your income and expenditure to match. So the best thing is to put up a SOA and get the folk here to help you devise a budget that will sort out your CCs and other debts.

You need to hunt out the APRs on your CCs first.
