AccessNI

Hi Everyone,
Good news is that finally after moving here I managed to get a job which required Access NI.
I've now been waiting over 6 weeks (it reached the PSNI on the 11th of May according to the HR department and the AccessNI people when I rang). Any idea on how much longer it will take?
I've been told it's taking longer because they had to send it to the police in the south of Ireland but I'm virtually all out of my savings and really don't want to have to start asking my parents/partner for money. I don't want to sign on for benefits either but even if I wanted to I can't as my partner is in full time employment. I'm getting really anxious and I wrote a complaint to AccessNI but have yet to hear back.
My job seems to be really laid back about it which I'm grateful for but I really want to start earning some money.
Any ideas of what I could do?

I know someone who already had one which ran out. She was changing jobs and had to reapply, took 3 months and she lost out on the new job.0

My experience is that it sits on someones desk for weeks as they can't be arsed/don't have the time to do the checks. They aren't considered a priority.0

Chase them up about it. It's likely that it's just sitting in a pile. No one's gonna chase it for you until you make an absolute pest of yourself. Desperate times = desperate measures.
Why can't you sign on if your partner is in full time work?0
