Rights to information when entering into a new loan

Just a quick precise of events:

I entered into a finance agreement for a bed purchased at the London Ideal Home Exhibition in March. The loan application was done electronically by laptop. I was told it was approved and I paid the required deposit.

There were subsequently problems with delivery of the bed but my problem arises from the lack of any information whatsoever in connection with the finance.

In hindsight it seems silly, but I was given absolutely no information as to even the name of the Financial institution to whom I applied so did not know who to contact when the bed did not materialise.

No payments were being taken from my bank so I could not find out that way, and the bed manufacturers were proving difficult to contact.

The bed was finally delivered earlier this month and 'broke down' within 4 hours of delivery.

A day or two later I received a welcome pack from Hitachi finance.

I am now preparing a Claim against the bed manufacturers, but wonder what were my rights at the time I applied for a got the finance and paid the deposit, surely the law must say something about receiving paperwork/copy agreements?

Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

you get paperwork 14 days after signing normaly, why not tell hitachi about the quality
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Why did you not read the agreement before agreing it? It was available to you electronically, all you had to do was ask to see it.

You should have fourteen days to cancel the loan.

You say you're preparing a claim against the bed's manufacture. Court? I think Section 75 applies here, so if the manufacturer's being difficult you could take the matter to Hitachi Finance because you have the same rights against them.

Who sold you the bed, and have they been unresponsive to your complaint? Prior to small claims you should send a letter before action, if the bed has only been delivered this month I'm assuming you haven't done this or given them sufficient time to respond?

Edit - this is a bumped post from June. Any update OP?
