I'm going through the process of having a new kitchen fitted. As project manager I've been planning and arranging all the tradesman to attend at key stages so far no work has been undertaken!
But I'm not happy with my kitchen fitter his communication has been poor and also he has over charged me heavily on certain items. This is Limited company. I've paid a deposit of £2000 via bank transfer on 3-6-15.
I'm I entitled to refund, under the sales of goods act 1979?
I have not received an receipt nor any form of contract.
Please advise many thanks

Sale of Goods Act. The clue is in the title. He hasn't sold you any goods. How can it apply?
Why has he overcharged on you on items? He can charge what he likes for goods. He buys a tin of paint for £10 and sells it to you for £30. What law has he broken?
Why did you pay him a deposit without him sending you an invoice?
Do you need a contract? When I do work for customers, I write a full quote with spec and price. I send 2 quotes to the customer and they sign them, returning one to me. If you want a contract you may be over managing the situation.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
I don't really understand what has happened. You say no work has been done but you have been overcharged for some items. So - what exactly have you received?
Also what exactly did you agree regarding price before you paid the deposit?0 -

Clearly some work has been undertaken as in your other thread you say:He has purchased and pre built the units ready for fitting0 -
