    If it's just a speck of dust or grit, try blowing your nose really hard.

    If that doesn't do it, use a shot glass or egg cup half filled with plain water, press it around your eye and upend it, then blink a few times while moving your eye from side to side.

    Then blow your nose again.

    I'm bemused by people being afraid of bathroom water in eyes - don't you get water in your eyes every day when you shower?
    I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

    A bottle of record cleaner burst once and went in my eyes. The only realistic option in that situation when I could hardly see anything was cold water from the tap. Using tap water shouldn't hurt you, people wash their faces with it and get it in their eyes all the time without aparent problems. My optician however is very much against contacts ever going near tap water, so if I was wearing contacts at the time I'd just discard them after this.
