    In 2009 I bought:
    Shimano DH3N80 dynamo hub (£53)
Busch & Muller IQ Cyo (£35)
Busch & Muller toplight flat plus rear light (£6)
I do about 3000 miles a year and the system has never been touched since installation.
It is lightweight and full lighting is always available at the flick of a switch.
Drag is proportional to the current consumed so isn't bad with LED lights.
In winter I use a CATEYE HL-EL625RC in addition which is far more powerful but has a short battery life. If it runs out I've always got my dynamo to get me home.
If you're thinking of a dynamo system always buy parts mail order from German sites-far cheaper there.
