decent people don't want to mix with low life scum. the sooner Govt understands that, the better for all. I used to live on a new development. The Govt insisted on building "affordable" flats and where did all the trouble come from? where were the police every weekend? that's right - the "affordable" flats. Keeps the scum in one area and leave the decent people alone.

You sound like one of those toffs that objects when people poo in the lift.
Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop

I am a hateful person that for no reason at all has a hatred of out of work scum bags who think it is ok to party all night on a Tuesday, with windows open, music blaring out and thousands of cigarette butts thrown on the floor next to their clapped out motor with no tax and three flat tyres.

How dare I have any issue with these local "salt of the earth" types who love their mother - and would probably have loved their father if they had a clue who he was.

I am deeply snobby for thinking it wrong that I should spend all day at work and then an hour commuting on the train each way to pay council tax for these people in "affordable" housing to live the high life, have their refuse collected, have street lights and anything else they want.

And if you ask these people nicely to refrain, you get a lovely mouthful of abuse in return and fear for your property, as they know where you live.

No need for out of work low lives to be living in London (or home counties near stations). They can all be resettled into an upnorth sink hole where they can smoke and drink themselves into oblivion without disturbing decent people.

The apartheid, racist’s narrative have gone too far, similar to Human right narrative nowadays. …
The danger here is people are using this as a blatant excuse for poor performance, laziness, not able to compete …
Put yourself in the developer shoes. If you are developers, are you going to put people on benefits, gypsies or the like in the same building with the people in the city?? If so who are going to buy your apartment apart from people who are immune to the cost as they are getting it for free or clinging from state supports??? …

there should be no need for private developers to deliver subsidised housing. why should one industry pay for a specific social need?

Moral objections aside, I don't even think this makes logical or economic sense. Developers could build the same number of apartments, and as long as they fill them (with people who actually live there), it should mean the supply issue is being addressed while improving the housing stock overall. If we weren't importing so many people (I'll leave that aside for a moment), it should mean that an affordable place has become available elsewhere in which to house social tenants (via a chain of movement even).

FWIW, I think it's extremely offensive to equate two front doors to a building with an abhorrent regime like Apartheid.

This programme reminded me of Apartheid, where the poor are segregated from the rich in the same building!

And if more cuts to public spending go ahead as planned then the gap will get wider.

I suspect last min, the cuts will be postponed as usually happens.

If the cuts do happen it could be carnage out there........
The thing about chaos is, it's fair.
