Kitchen Roll recommendations please

My local Chemist !! used to sell really good kitchen roll @30p each, thick, strong & absorbent.

They've now substituted a very poor replacement, thin, 1/2 the weight, and flimsy, smaller squares...

So, looking for a similar Kitchen Roll to what the Chemist used to sell, no name.

Recommendations please, Supermarket, £ shops, Wilko etc

Are those really large "industrial" Blue rolls any good ?

TIA

Blue roll we use in work. Lots off it. And I mean loads. It's not absorbent like kitchen towel so we pull reams of it off for the smallest of spills. Indeed for wet spills we use tea towels

Mum buys that bounty or plenty or whatever it's called. Yes it's absorbent and yes you can wring it out, but to my mind if you are going to use it that way it's cheaper to use a cloth

And that's what I use. Mirofibre cloth just chuck it in the wash at the end of the day

I go through loads of kitchen roll, probably shouldn't but it's not the worst habit to have! I get the Nicky rolls, 3 for £1 at home bargains.

I get the 4 rolls for £1 from Icel*nd. They're not the thickest or most absorbent but at 25p a roll they're OK.

Ditto to the Iceland ones here. I've never sat and worked out if it's the most economic in terms of sheets per roll, but I often use kitchen roll and like the disposable-ness of it (I raw-feed my dogs, so being able to mop up after them and just bin it is much nicer than having lots of manky clothes around!) so cheap-n-cheerful does the job for me.

I only buy the Regina kitchen towel. I know its expensive (i only buy when on offer- other wise its about £2 a roll), but the rolls are huge and last forever.
Its incredibly thick and absorbent, so i use 1 or 2 squares at a time.
  • I buy Regina too. It's fantastic stuff. I only ever buy it on offer, then stock up. It lasts for ages and ages. I hide it when the grown up kids come round as they will reel off loads, blow their nose on it once, then chuck it in the bin! Grrrrr

Same here for the Regina, but when on offer I get the Bounty rolls. They do last ages I must admit, but I don't go through them anywhere near as much as the cheaper ones!

I only ever buy the Regina as well, but there is a rule in my house that it is only for use when cooking, use a cloth for wiping down the sides and a towel for wiping your hands on!
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I only use Regina these days too - also only bought when on offer, but it does last for ages.

No recommendations as Kitchen Roll is uneconomic and wasteful.:money:

The Blue Rolls are horrible and the size of them encourages waste imo.

Just use a dish cloth (with a couple in stock), rinse out and hang up to dry. Washable when required and no unnecessary waste.
