Vegetable box from greengrocer
Options
After being disappointed at the short life of my supermarket fruit and veg last week I'm considering trying out a local greengrocer and seeing how they compare. Am going to enquire at a few places including the one I grew up buying from (on the other side of the city where I live, which you have to drive through town to get to
) and seeing how the prices and quality compare.
I've heard about vegetable boxes and I'm wondering if anyone can advise what kind of fruit and veg you get and how much they tend to be -- I know prices won't be the same everywhere as they're independent greengrocers but having a rough figure to keep in mind would be good so I know I'm not being grossly overcharged. Do you find that you just get whatever's given / seasonal veg and whether the greengrocer is likely to swap anything you don't like for something you do if it's a "fixed" box iykwim?
(I'm aware that you can buy vegetable boxes online but I would rather not do this as I have trouble with deliveries where I live so want to try locally first and see how it goes

If you don't want deliveries then you will have to go to the shop. In that case why don't you just buy what you want at the time?0

I use a local supplier of fruit and veg, who deliver fortnightly. They just leave the box outside my frontdoor, no signing or hassle.
Its seasonal veg, although I ask for no potatoes, as I usually need a lot more and pick them up at Lidl.
I pay £7 a week, and get a big box full of veg and fruit. mainly veg, which I prefer.
Speak to your local suppliers and see what they offer.Total Debt in Feb 2015 - £6,052 | DEBT FREE 26/05/2017Swagbucks £200 Valued Opinions £100Dave Ramsey Baby Step 2 | Mr Money Mustache Addict0
