New Mummy, New Life - Now need to be debt free

I have tried this once before when I was with my ex and had no support but my now partner is in a similar position to me and now also wants to make the change so its time to start again.
Just under two weeks I became a mummy to my beautiful Daughter, I am on maternity leave (though keeping in touch with work so I can come straight back and get into things) but want to use some of this time to work on getting things cleared.
We rent a fantastic property that I have been given the chance to purchase if we can sort ourselves out and so need to start working on things.
I decided if I did a diary it would keep me motivated and on the right path.
I have a good salary when not on Mat Leave, as well as a second job running a slimming group so I just need to learn to be more careful with money and start chipping away at the debts.
I have looked at my partners first and looked at his income and at the moment as he pays for his other two children as well he cant afford to put any more towards his debts. He has a second job of doing private gardening work but he uses that to pay his bills etc so I cant say he doesn't work hard.
I am working through my debts and trying to get them under control though another one came creeping out of the wood work the other day which I didn't know about and think my ex may have taken out so dealing with that.
The first debt we need to work at is my partners credit card as its £7500 worth of debt with a 26% interest rate. At the moment he is paying £240 a month and its not doing any real damage due to interest. I have worked out if we can pay £500 a month then it will be cleared in a year and save us a fortune on interest, then allow us to pay £500 onto something else and snow ball from there.
Going to have a look through the challenges and see what I can do to make some more money, as well as cut back starting with the shopping bill this week.

Well today was a big milestone for me, I went to supermarket and brought only what I needed. I needed some bits for dinner tonight to make a nice meal for when the OH children are round. Whilst cooking I am going to write a list of what is in the freezer so I can write a food planner.
Also running a home delivery shop list on line so that I only put in basket what I need as I see its running low. I can then go back through the list and remove what we really don't need, hoping by doing it this way I wont be tempted to go in and buy anything.
Done some work this morning, so this afternoon I am going to go through the washing pile, do some washing and ironing and work out what I really need clothes wise and what I don't really need. I need to sort out my maternity clothes to one side and put them for sale on some websites to make a little bit more money towards the credit card bill.Make £100 a month /
