Claiming back C/Card Charges if paying reduced amount

Hi there
I am thinking of writing to Lloyds TSB trustcard and Barclaycard to ask for all the excessive charges over the last six years. However, I am currently paying a reduced agreed amount and they have stopped the interest.

I only want to claim the amounts so I can reduce the balance on the credit cards.

Has anyone tried this or do you think they will ask for the balance on the credit card if they award the charges ?

We are in so much debt at the moment and need all the help we can get.
