Well good start to the MSE Week so far :money:
I just got of the phone to DE Money who we had a mortgage with back ion 2003 and after reading Martins article on reclaiming the charge after watching his video in last weeks email . With one phone call and no letter writing they have said they will send me a cheque for £94.58 no questions asked! :T To me a 15 minute call was well worth it.
If you have remortgaged in the last 6 years give the old company a call. I was very sceptical but I cant argue with the results. Thank you Martin!

Nice one Mandy, I also have had an account with London Mortgage Company although it was a secured loan. I never thought about contacting the loan companies. They will be added to me list.

Good for you - i tried this a few weeks ago, but had not paid an exit fee, so nothing to reclaim!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Do it! 10 minutes on the phone uis well worth the time if you get anything back. Read martins article. I am amazed at how easy it was!

Me too guys !
I didnt even know how much we'd been quoted or even paid ! ... But after seeing Martins article knew there was a good chance they would have over charged me !
Gave them (Abbey) a call with nothing more than the Mortgage agreement number and asked for the difference back the guy on the phone was very nice and said he would send a claim form out (not the end of the world) but I asked him If he could see how much the contract said and how much I'd paid ... He couldnt give me a defenate figure but said that at the time of taking the Mortgage out they were quoting around £99 and the exit fees were now £225 !
So looks like I could be in for £126
Thanks Martin !LBM - 20/05/07Well that all went FUBAR0
