Sunday Times Where Was I? competition
The prize:
The winner and a guest will stay for three nights, B&B, at the five-star Pera Palace Hotel Jumeirah, in Istanbul. Set in Beyoglu, the hotel overlooks the old city and is within walking distance of the Bosphorus and the shops of Istiklal. The first building in Turkey to be electrified, apart from the Ottoman palaces, it has played host to Greta Garbo, Mata Hari and Ataturk, the founder of modern Turkey. Now it mixes 19th-century detail with 21st-century tech, and its terraces and tearooms buzz with visitors and locals.
Return flights from London will be with Pegasus Airlines, which recently launched a service from Gatwick to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen, offering six flights a week. It also flies twice a day to Istanbul from Stansted.
The prize must be taken before December 20, 2015, subject to availability and excluding public holidays.
