Bored Na !Eco Logs

Doing some Googling tonight I came across a product called 'Hotties,' a product made from compressed wood chips, sawdust, and it would seem suitable for a glass fronted wood burner. There also appear to be other such logs but 'Hotties' seem the most popular. From what I've managed to read it would seem that while the upfront price is more expensive because of their consistency they may prove more economical if buying a yearly supply
Then I thought Bord na M!na and wondered if they did any products like a manufactured log suitable for wood burning stoves.
Now I must admit I was thinking turf when I discovered they do a product called Eco Logs which seems to be the same sort of thing as Hotties - sawdust, compressed wood of some kind.
Anyone on the Forum know anything about them - effectiveness, how long they burn, heat put out, that sort of thing. Price, well I suppose that will be different in various part of the country, would love to hear from members, North and South, who have tried them

Bought something similar from lidl and bargain buys last year, easy enough to get lit, give off a decent bit of heat but not for long. Not a replacement for proper seasoned hardwood logs but better than the softwood rubbish you get from forecourts etc.0

Just received the following from Bord na MonaHi Kevin,
many thanks for your enquiry.
I would be slow to recommend the eco logs for your stove. They burn very hot over a shortish period and might well damage your glass. If you check our website you will see notes on the various wood products, including the maximum number of logs to burn etc.
I would be inclined to recommend our crates of kiln dried hardwood logs. the crates are about €150 each or thereabouts. We also have bags of kiln dried logs, circa 10kg. these retail at around €6.50 each.
Because of the amount of local timber and 'cottage industry' wood, we are only recently growing this part of our business in N. Irl.
If you are interested in buying a couple of crates of the hardwood logs, I would work something out with one of my distributors to get them to you.
Hope this is of some assistance.
Oh yes bought a log today in one of my local supermarkets, says it's suitable for woodburners, I'll give it a go in my multi burner just to see how she goes At £1.39 it might be worth buying a few for a quick fire0 -
Are you folks all MAD. Sun's splitting the sky outside and you're talking about putting the fire on..... :eek:0
