Can I change from my mortgage offer?
Comments
-
Did you not know what the range of rates were before you applied? Was it a case of going with Halifax because you stood a better chance? Who decided to apply with them, you or your broker?
You can apply for another mortgage, but just because Halifax accepted you, it doesn't mean another lender will. Also the other lender will see that you have applied through Halifax, and will want to know why you are applying for a second one. They may look very closely at your application if they suspect either that there is something stopping Halifax giving you a mortgage or that you are trying to get two mortgages.0 -
essentially that is my question...if a new lender accepts me can I just walk away from the current offer? or am I tied in once I receive a formal offer?
You can walk away if you want, but you'd be unlikely to get back any fees you've paid so farEarly retired - 18th December 2014
