Debt collection agency

Hello there,
Since Sep 06 my ex has not paid any CSA.
~He never paid regular on off for years.
He even got some one to call CSA to say he had moved abroad, and they belived him.
I did not Buy it as he has never been abroad and he would do anything to get out of not paying.

I have spoken with CAS each Month with no new NEWS, today i spoke with them and they say it has gone to Debt Collectors?

I asked what has? and she informed me the arears, so i asked about the monthly payments thats due to the children,
Because threy are not being able to find him, ie his National insurance number is still bringing up his Old job from last year which his employer says he left they are doing nothing.
:A
She would not tell me what debt collectors they have sent it too and just said you should of received a letter from them if not phone back at the end of the month, (which is there best line as they always say this).
She did say they debt is for £7000 and thats all i know.

What can i do to help the debt collectors, firstly i need to find out who they are, but then what???

I hate the fact my ex can get on with his life and not pay towards his childrens upkeep, it took 2 to tango.

Any advice would be welcomed.

Thank you

hi, sorry this is my first reply/post of any type on any forum and therefore I may not have hit the correct reply button !! I have been watching the child support thread for a few months and have found the support offered to others as extremely comforting during my CSA nightmare.
    .
I had a call from CSA this morning and was advised that the arrears will be calculated and chased for by the 'Debt Management Team'......it sounded to me as though it is another internal department rather than an outside agency... to be frank I was so overwhelmed to actually receive a call from the CSA with any info at all that I didn't think to ask whether it was internal or external :-)

oops...forgot my other point......you mention what can you do to help them ????? when did they ever listen to any offers of help ?!
my experience thus far has been that offering details and help results in increased frustration at the shambles of a system....usually leading to a poor staff member listening to me ranting on the phone for 5 mins at a time lol

If he is working cash in hand there isn't much they can do!!! hey can go to the inland revenue which will showwhat they hold, so he isn't paying tax either. If he isn't on benefits then there is a limit on what they can do to trace him. They will have checked Equifax to see if he is registered as living there and then they will start court action against him. If he is not there then there isn't anything more they can do without a confident address. Maybe he DID go abroad - otherwise somebody is keeping him.
  • Well mine has also been past to debt collection in may, I am owed over £23000 rising every month. Csa have told me the the collection agency do not send them regular updates and its a wait and see. All very very .

My wife has rang the csa as her ex missed a payment and she has been told they are getting a liability order from the court.
he has been paying a very small amount of the assessment but the debt is up to £7000.00

he has packed his job in but he does have a house and lives on his own. so she is hoping there wont be a problem.
I'm back after a break :money:
