I applied for a mortgage but the lender asks me to export my credit history and send it to them. Is it legal that lender ask me to send the original credit history while they can check it?

They told me I must export from Experian and send the PDF report to them. It looks awkward because they can check my credit history and they don't need my file from myself.maninthestreet wrote: »Export from where?0 -

Is it definitely Halifax themselves asking for it, rather than your broker?0

The broker told me the lender needs it and they sent to the lender.0

We process probably 100+ mortgages with Halifax every year and have never been asked for a credit report for a case that ISN'T subject to an appeal.I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. If you want to shift something faster than the Halifax "once a month Experian update", the trick is to appeal, with a copy of the latest Experian file attached.
