Removing cigarette smell from a leather bag

Pretty much as per the title suggests - snapped up a beautiful (used) leather bag from eBay. It's turned up stinking of cigarette smoke. So far I've tried hanging it on the washing line and putting those Lenor Scent Booster pearls in it, but that's really only diminished the smell slightly. If it was fabric, I'd just chuck it into the washing machine until it was freshened up, but leather isn't going to be that simple!
Is there any other way I could try to remove the smell from the bag?

Well I had one from eBay too, even washed it in the end but still smelt.

put it in a bin bag/recycling bag with bicarb of soda and sheets of newspaper, seal and leave for a week or two.
newspaper and bicard absorb smell so it should come out smelling ok.
the smell will probably diminish with use anyway,Total Debt in Feb 2015 - £6,052 | DEBT FREE 26/05/2017Swagbucks £200 Valued Opinions £100Dave Ramsey Baby Step 2 | Mr Money Mustache Addict0 -
I did the black bag/bicarb trick with some smokey motorbike leathers I bought off eBay, worked well. Also, hanging out in the sun while the weather's nice.0
