Inheritance / remortgage

Hi, i inherited house jointly with sister. She asked me to buy her out. So we agreed price. Fifty/fifty. Next step was me to get mortgage. So got remotgage agreed with bank. One issue my name not on deeds. So this needed to be done (house still in my dads name) my sisters solicitor seems to making this very complicated. My sister wants her money, i want to give her the money, but were stuck? Anybody got a simple process of getting this done. Its not a case of me and my sister arguing over anything and the both of us just want this brought to a conclusion. Ive been told for remortgage its got to be my name only as its in my name. Cheers stu

I think it is a mortgage not a remortgage as the property is not yet in your name.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. The easy way is to tell the estate administrator to sell you the house from the estate using your share as the deposit.
The mortgage funds pay your sis out of the estate.0
