Time to stock up, i went into Asda and bought some 4 for £1, but then got to Poundstretcher and they're 2 for 49p.
So take your pick.

I've already done so. The ASDA offer is for KTC plum or chopped tomatoes and other beans/pulses. The Poundstretcher offer is just for plum tomatoes.

PS. From their website, Poundstretcher's chopped tomatoes are Napolina brand, 6 for £2.49.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

Thanks for the tip, have stocked up, and they had both the plum and chopped in my local Poundstretcher.

Beware of cheaper brands; I bought some at Tesco a while back and there were only a couple in the tin.

(Not saying all cheap brands are like that, but I'd try one or two before stocking up.)

Never had a problem with cheap tomatoes I've had lots of things KTC brand and always been happy, just remember it's better to get plum tomatoes and whizz them up yourself as it's always inferior quality toms in the chopped, just the way it is to reduce waste.

I buy KTC all the time, as do many who I see bulk buying in the world food aisles. I've whizzed up plum tomatoes before but personally I'm happy to have let someone else do it for me with the chopped ones.

I've no Poundstretcher and Asda's a 12 mile round trip. I'd have to get the spreadsheet out to work out how many I'd need to buy to make them cheaper than the Lidl ones I can walk home.

Off the top of my head it's about 40 cans.

    :)

As I keep 2-3 in the cupboard and use about 12/year it's probably not going to happen.

Agreed. It's easy to chop plum tomatoes up if you need to use them in pieces. It's difficult to stick chopped tomatoes back together again, if you need to use them whole. :)

The KTC tomatoes/pulses in Asda are now 3 for £1. East End tomatoes in Tesco now 3 for £1.

Both still promoting these as an "offer", despite being more expensive than previously.

Cheapo tomatoes and beans can't taste much of a difference.
