Trainers for walking

I need to get some more trainers as the ones I have are beginning to rub me.

I have started to walk approx 3 miles a day mostly on tarmac but a small amount across fields. I don't think i want hiking/walking boots. Would prefer trainers.

The ones I have at the moment are suppose to be running trainers New Balance brand.

I have a budget of about £35-£40. What sort of trainers should I be looking at.

Thanks in advance.

Yours

Calley

You should be ok with running shoes for walking. If it was the other way around (that you use walking shoes for running) it could cause a problem.
So overall, not all running shoes are good for walking, but most shoes you see designated as walking shoes at the average shoe store are worse.

Many walking shoe designs are designed for comfort or workplace use rather than fitness walking.

I've got New Balance ones which our local running shop recommended. They sell a lot of them to people doing stuff like Moon Walk, Nijmegan Marches etc as it's more important to have well cushioned supportive uppers and insole rather than rugged outsole and water resistance for fair weather walking on paths.
