HELP NEEDED - Bridal shop nightmare

Hi there,
I am in desperate need of advice of what to do next. To cut a VERY long story short I purchased a bridal gown from a reputable shop in the area and I ended up taking my dress away less than 2 weeks before the wedding crying my eyes out as their seamstress had done the alterations wrong. I refused to let them work on it again and although the new seamstress I went to did a great job in fixing it, the dress was never 100% perfect. This affected me so badly and my family and caused an unmeasurable amount of stress for us all. As I said this is a brief overview of what happened and there are lots more negative things that happened along the way. I want compensation for what they put me through but they are refusing liability which I think is horrendous on both a human level and business level.
I cannot afford to take them court or anything like that and as of yet I am yet to hear from Watchdog so I am clueless on how to get results. I am still affected by what happened; you only get one wedding day.
Many thanks.

What were the alterations they made that were so bad?0

It was to the bodice of the dress, basically the seamstress caused a massive lump in the fabric so it was stretched.0

Speak to your local Trading Standards office, part of your local council for their advice. Will probably be quicker than Watchdog, who may well suggest that you go to them in the first instance.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
