Santander credit checks.

Hi,
My husband and I are in the process of making a mortgage application with Santander. We had our credit checked by our advisor during phone call and were told that it was 'fine' and we now need to go in and fill out the forms.
Neither my husband or I have any sort of debts but our credit history is very limited. I checked my score and it was classed as good in the 900's but we've had no credit in the past (loans, credit cards, phone contracts, overdrafts etc). I assumed we would have been considered a high risk without any proof that we can borrow responsibly. Is it likely that the underwriter will pick up on this?
We are first time buyers. We have had an offer accepted for 91k and have 20k deposit.
Thanks.

You should be OK, but don't be surprised if Santander are widely efficient or shockingly painful - they can be either and are rarely anything in between.I am a Mortgage Broker

Fiona - I got my mortgage through Santander with very limited credit history (less than 24 months in the UK at application time). Obviously not a guarantee, but perhaps will make you feel better that their underwriting team does accept applications with little credit history as long as everything else is in place.0
