    Thats just it!

There saying that it is impossible for a computer to generate a random number!

They're using half-truths to sell a worthless scam product.

Saying it's impossibly for a computer to generate a random number, whilst theoretically true, is irrelevant because the RNG software can certainly produce an event that's random ENOUGH.

Modern software can include many factors, such as your own mouse movements & the time between your actions (as well as a ton of other things) to add to the RNG recipe. Effectively it's random (even though there are TEFAL-head type mathematical reasons why anything generated by a computer isn't "truly" random).

    Save your dough.

    cheers

Why would it be impossible? As far as I know a computer is perfectly capable of generating a random number - banking security systems rely on them.

Random numbers generated by computers are not often truly random:

The C and C++ languages have been critisized in the past as the really only have a limited number of numbers, despite stating that they are randomly generated.

hey all - what u all saying is right with out a doubt - but i did find this interesting one day and found a free system, one the where u keep rasing to bet to cover you losses etc. and i did mange to make about £50 in a hour with it quite easily - and the money i was gambiling with was given to me buy the casion for joing up didnt use one bit of my own (i had to put in so much and they matched it so i put in £10 they gave me £10 so my account was £20 but if that got down to £10 i take my money and leave). so £50 up - but then the bad side i thought well its obivoulst working lets do it some more, but there went £25 shortly, then realised should stop - but i think if u can find them online casions that will give u free money for joining kinda thing (it wont let u take that out the game but u can take anything u win with it) gamble with that and no more,u kinda are kinda gambling with no risk. just have to make sure u walk away with more then you free money and if ur free money goes walk out and dont go back has worked well for me not actaully lost 1 penny of my money. (doesnt mean won £1000 though)#

but i do agree these system wont make you £1000's at all espically with ur own money. as people say here why would they need to sell it?

Executive Summary: Yes, the computer itself can't generate random data but it can look at the outside world. Even a small amount of randomness is enough to show that this roulette idea is probably a gimmick.

    More:

This is actually a really interesting subject. The science of entropy.

There is a shred of truth in that it is hard to generate a truly random number with a computer alone.

The reason for this is that computers are logical, and what's logical about randomness.

    However, it is possible.

Randomness is otherwise known as entropy. While it is hard to generate entropy, it is possible. Ways I've noticed include watching interference from hard drives and other peripherals. If you encrypt your emails you may get asked to wave the mouse around a bit or type in some letters.
So, the computer itself doesn't do it, but it can watch the outside world and record that.

Order of events: Banks lose our money -> get bailed out -> were inflating GBP to cover it -> now taxing us -> next will grab your funds direct -> things get really desperate to balance the books. What should have happened?: banks go bust and we lost our money much quicker

Why is the "computer" in a gaming machine any different to the "computer" in ERNIE ? - both are undoubtedly different machines to the one that I am typing this into - but the generic, if somewhat unsophisticated , name of "computer" will suffice for all three.

It can't be risk free if it's gambling. By it's very nature there is a risk however small. But i don't think advising someone to make "serious money" by gambling and claiming it's risk free is very good advice.

I didn't say gambling. I said gambling loopholes board.

I did say matched betting. As long as you follow the rules it is risk free.

Do you understand the process of matched betting or are you one of those people who dismisses everything they don't understand?

Even though I am sure that the gambling systems* on Ebay don't work, it can be interesting to know what they are.

wizardofodds.com has some stuff about this, discussions on what the different systems are and why they don't work.

*except card counting which does work in real casinos if you are extremely good at it but even then there is only a tiny player advantage

I've tried arbitrage and matched betting. It works fine till you get known for it and then you risk the second bookie pulling the price by the time you've placed the first bet (and they will, as they hate arb'ers and matched bettors with a vengeance). And, as you have to deal in large numbers to make any real money, then you are in a huge risk situation.

Only to be tried by those who really know what they're doing and the risks involved.
