Have I got 'faulty' milk?

We have been buying and using Asda long-life milk for use in coffee for a couple of years now without an issue, and we drink quite a lot of it.

I made 2 cups of coffee this evening for me and my other half but ran out of milk on my cup so I opened a new carton from a new 6-pack for the other cup. My coffee was fine but as I poured hot water into the other cup the milk curdled. The milk looked and smelt fine so I washed the cup and made another but got the same result. For a 3rd attempt I used another cup and opened another carton of milk (from the same 6-pack) but again the milk curdled despite smelling and looking fine and being months in date.

Is it possible that this batch of milk is 'faulty', and has perhaps been processed incorrectly?

It's the only explanation I can come up with. Other half is returning the whole pack to Asda in the morning.
