Estimated Wait Time on Bridesmaid Dresses?

Options
Getting married end Dec 2015 and with work committments etc have only got round now to looking for bridesmaids dresses. What is the estimated length of time it takes for these to come in?

Ideally I would like to go somewhere like House of Fraser and buy and take home there and then, but have not seen any in the colour scheme we have.

The wedding shops in my area do not seem to have a good selection either in my colour, and already the one shop I happened to call into one day, laughed and said I was leaving it very late...this was over a month ago.

Wondering if all shops are going to have this attitude maybe I should get them made with a local dressmaker?

Why don't you ask your local dressmaker how long it'll take if that's who you want to make the dresses?

    Or try eBay outlet!

The attitude of the shop is poor, I didn't order my actual wedding dress until February and it hasn't even arrived yet and our wedding is on 2nd August! It should be here by the end of the month and they have said it's fine it will be fitted and ready in time.

    What is your colour scheme?

Ours is turquoise which is quite difficult but got gorgeous dresses from Debenhams :)

My wedding is in December too. I ordered my bridesmaids' dresses on 4th February and they still haven't arrived, they're due in the next 4-6 weeks. They're Ebony Rose if that helps.

A friend ordered hers from David's Bridal in London and they arrived really quickly.

It will depend on the designer you want to order from but I imagine many can do rush orders. E.g. Glamourous Gowns do Mori Lee dresses in 10 weeks for an extra fee.

Colour scheme-I think that's also my problem; I'm thinking of going for either magenta or a wine colour and the likes of house of fraser etc haven't these "winter" shades in at the moment.

We're going shopping on Tues but I have rang ahead to ask about delivery times and they were much nicer-went through different options for different makes and also gave details on quicker returns for more money. I think my earlier experience will hopefully have been a one off.

Thanks to everyone for your responses

That colour is almost perfect, but with it being Dec, my girls want to be as covered up as possible lol!! We were in Debehams and HOF yesterday and its all very summery colours yet. Have an app with a dressmaker for early next week so I'l hopefully get sorted then

You could go with any dress and add faux fur shrug/bolero type jackets, I think they look nice for winter weddings :)

Best of luck with your appointment!
