Employment change query

My fiancee and I received a decision in principle from Nationwide yesterday afternoon on the basis that I have been working at a local authority for over a year through an agency.

I was then called into a meeting with my line manager this morning and was informed that rather than being employed through the agency they will be moving me onto a fixed term contract direct with the local authority.

Having looked again at the employment criteria at Nationwide I see that they require people on a fixed term contract to have been employed on a fixed term contract basis for over 12 months. Am I now unlikely to get the mortgage if I make a full application or will Nationwide carry over the 15 months I have already been working?

Did you arrange the mortgage with a broker or directly?

It's an interesting question because your role hasn't changed, but the nature of employment has. On your form did you select your employer as the local authority or the agency?

Will you be paid more, less or the same?

    It's worth considering.

We arranged it direct with Nationwide.

For the decision in principle I declared it as employment through an agency. It was literally 10 minutes after we ended the telephone interview I discovered we were going onto fixed term contracts directly with the authority.

The role and pay will be exactly the same.
