Inflation / Deflation and Osbourne

It appears both deflation and inflation is good news. Indeed, whatever the number, it's good news.

In march (when inflation hit zero) he said:
Osborne said zero inflation was “a first for the British economy” and good news for family budgets.
In May when it went negative he said:
Today we see good news for family budgets with prices lower than they were a year ago.
And today? As inflation turns positive again?
This is good news for working people and family budgets, and shows the economic recovery is going from strength to strength. Of course the job is not done and we will continue to remain vigilant to all risks, particularly when the global economic situation is so uncertain
So it seems it's always good news for families budgets?

Indeed, whatever the number, it's good news.

For the majority pay rises are currently rising faster than the rate of inflation. At current low levels. Isn't that correct? After all people are impacted in different ways. As not everyone's budget aligns with the index.

    Point 1 of a percent.

I can't believe we have a thread about a rounding error - I honestly think we need that face palm smiley back. Graham your posts may be misguided at times but are normally worthy of discussion...
    I think....
