Tesco delivery slots

I need to book a slot for late July which clearly isnt showing yet on the website, does anyone know if I book a slot now for another day that is already available can i then change it nearer the time?

Also - the money isnt taken until the shopping is delivered is that correct?

If you book a slot then up until the day before delivery is due you can cancel it or change to another slot that is available at the time of rebooking.

No payment is taken until the order is ready for delivery. However at the time of making a booking £2 is reserved on your card reducing your available balance.

What are you hoping to achieve by booking a slot that you won't use only to amend it later? You will get no priority and not know whether the item will be in stock and at what price at the required date. In my experience slots become available 3 weeks ahead.

I agree, you won't be able to see any special offers OP and any offers that you do put in your basket will have most probably expired by July.

I need to start putting a big list together as we are having to start all a fresh post house move (from overseas) and I want to be able to start whislt I still have access to a computer as we will not be online for 2 weeks before we move into the new house because of travelling etc.
If I start now even getting the basics in there I can then try and get any special offers nearer the time but I am planning on basics range for most of the staples e.g pasta, flour etc anyway.

If booking a temporary slot you need to make very sure that you remember to change the delivery date before the slot arrives.

It would be possible to build up a list without reserving a slot in the first instance.

Log in. Add items to the basket. Save as a named shopping list. Empty basket.

On later occasions recall all items from the list from Favourites to the basket, amend and save the list, empty basket.

Near the day book a slot, add all items from the list to basket and place order.
