Hi i am with Eon v9 e7 tariff, it runs out october 24, so i signed up for the big collective switch and they emailed saying Eon was the cheapest.
The new tariff is slightly more expensive about £40 a year but that because Eon put the wrong prices on the v9, now i phoned Eon yesterday and they says they will not be putting me on the tariff i asked to go on as it was more expensive than my current tariff.
I says i wanted to plan ahead for the coming winter but they says wait till nearer October and look for a better tariff.
Any ideas on what i should do can i phone and say i want to be on the tariff.
Thanks guys

Good morning mackemps3,
I think there may be a bit of confusion here.
We at E.ON can't put you on a tariff that's through a collective switch, you need to do this through the actual website, ie, MSE, moneysupermarket etc
You can change to any tariff we offer through our website, even if it's more expensive. You can just do this via your online account. But you can't change to a collective tariff this way.
If you decide to change your tariff through a collective switch, this will all be sent through to us by them, then your account will carry on as normal.
I hope this helps.

However if you change product through the E.ON website you will miss out on the cash back payment that MSE offer.0 -

That's right, we don't offer cash back for a product switch on our website.
Thank you

... but you can't usually transfer tariff with the same supplier via a comparison site (unless it's a collective switch tariff only available via that switching site)
I have previously done a product switch via MSE before when I was already with N Power and still got my cash back. This was not under the collective deal.0 -

I'll be more than happy to look at your account for you. I'll look what the notes say as E.ON can't put you on one of these tariff's.
Please email all of your details to WebForumAdvisors@eonenergy.com
Do you have any sort of complex meter by any chance? By this I mean E10, heatwise RHT etc?
What did the website say when trying to switch through there? Did it give you a reason you couldn't change? Because as I say we can't offer you one of the collective switch tariff's it can only be done through the third party site.
I'm off home now, but I'll pick your email up tomorrow.

Hi its ok i have just came off the phone to Eon and the man says its Eon's policy not to change the tariff if it is more expensive through a collective switch, he says as long as i am aware that it will cost more he will email the department to put the tariff i have chosen.

Are you still trying to sort out your heating system?
If so then jumping into a new contract might not be a good idea if you have to change tariffs (E7 to single rate) when it's completed, especially if there are early termination charges. Unless of course you've decided to stay with NSH rather than going for infra-red.
IR will cost a fortune to run on E7 as you wont get any benefit from the night rate - all your heating will be at the higher day rate.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
I still have had no word from the housing about the heating. In a ideal world i would new NSH but i cant get those installed unless i trial the infrared and it works out more expensive and they will remove the infrared and reinstall NSH.
I have looked on the net but i cant seem to find any where that i could get them for free instead of a boilerThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
